Imagine A World Where Uniqueness Was Celebrated Instead Of Ridiculed

Why do we shame people for being different?

Olympic runner, Femke Bol just broke her own world indoor 400m record at the World Athletic Indoor Championships in Glasgow.

Not only that, but she has also been a World champion twice, a Diamond League Final winner three times, and the World Indoor champion twice.

At 24 years old, Femke is an inspirational and exceptional athlete. She is the sort of athlete that comes around once in a generation.

She is the sort of athlete that should be lauded and celebrated.

However, she is trending on social media now, not only because of her success but mostly because people think her voice sounds funny.

Threads like this are all over X, Instagram and Reddit. While there have been a fair number of people who have stood up for her, I wonder why any of the negativity was needed at all.
